The Advent Adventure

November 30, 2011

The Domestic Goddess and I had an outing on Monday. Like many of our plans it went through several incarnations, although unlike many of our plans it did actually come to fruition. In its final form, the jaunt took the form of a trip into Manchester, for a spot of Christmas planning. No plan is complete without a notebook to plan it in (I’m sorry 100 days to Christmas people, but although I’m finding the ring binder useful, it’s not portable and pocketable, like a notebook), so our first stop was Paperchase, for notebooks and pens – I have a rather fetching purple pair. This was quickly followed by our second, rather longer stop in a coffee shop to begin the important process.

Who’d have thought it, the act of committing to planning and writing it down, has made it all much more real, and we are already texting each other with our achievements so far – I have planned our Christmas cards, and bought some wrapping paper, she has planned more gifts and bought a present for her sister. We’re not over-reaching ourselves, if we get to Christmas Eve and we’re sufficiently organised not to be frantically wrapping once the Pictlets and Goddesslings are abed, we will consider it a triumph!
