Summer Holidays . . .

August 29, 2011

. . . how I’m going to miss them! We spent a lovely, sunny week in Crete, and I took some cross stitch with me as knitting seemed excessive for the weather. It was possibly a dangerous move though, as now I’m hooked on cross stitch again, and it can be really hard to put down. When I got home I just couldn’t resist a couple of cross stitch magazines, and then of course I browsed through the sites they mentioned, and before you know it I’d ended up buying two charts from an online company that was new to me: SoCreaStitch – they specialise in French designs but instructions (and prices) are in English. They have some beautiful designs, and many just a little bit different. While waiting for those to arrive, I’ve brought an alphabet of Japanese girls away with me from last September’s Cross Stitcher. I’m not embarking on them all, but have done an initial for Super Girl and am now busy finishing an A for one of her friends. I’ll let you see it when I’m done. It’s a nice little design, but I’m thoroughly fed up with it as I counted wrongly yesterday and spent the rather lacklustre Page Eight on television yesterday evening having to unpick half a kimono! Back on track now though, and just the back stitching to do.  8o)
