slacking

August 23, 2010

from one laundry fest to the next.  We had a fab holiday – a good mix of culture, food and swimming pools mixed with a bit of bird watching, and having finally got to grips with all the washing we brought home, Boy Wonder and Super Girl got back from Scout Camp yesterday and generously donated yet more to the basket.  The weather has taken a turn for the local and it’s not worth even trying to calculate the Saddleworth Equation – no stiff breeze could counteract the rain we’re having at the moment.  On the bright side – the hosepipe ban is over.

Since we returned, I’ve been trying to get back into the Living Carefully thing, with limited success so far, I have to say – but not done so badly today: BW, SG and I made and shared lunch together – flat bread, houmous* and pepper and feta dip but today’s clearing out was vicarious – I’ve persuaded the husband to have a bit of a clear out and he’s generated a bag full of clothes to go to the charity shop.

* 1 tin of chick peas (drained but keep liquid), 1 tbsp tahini, 1 tbsp liquid from chickpeas, 1 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 cloves garlic.

Whizz it all together and add a bit more of the chickpea liquid if it’s a bit stiff. There you are – quick, easy and cheaper than the supermarket  8o)
