Mother’s Day

March 22, 2009

Well you certainly can’t say that I haven’t tried with this year’s Mother’s Day (due to poor typing that originally came out as Other’s Day, which I was quite tempted to keep), and it has paid dividends.  Super Girl and I are away from home this weekend, and she thought fully brought her present with her – a beautiful, painted bird.  It remains to be seen whether Boy Wonder has made the effort to finish off his tree for me.  The difference in cards has been quite marked: Super Girl – a cream card with heart-decorated ribbon and a felt heart embellishing it; Boy Wonder – a dark green card, upon which the words “Happy Mother’s Day” can just be discerned, written (not especially neatly) in pencil.  Apparently this was the second attempt – I just can’t imagine what made the first unworthy of use.  I know it’s the thought that counts, but I am just wondering: how much thinking was there?
